Furniture Designer in bamboo
Daily Tasks
A training workshop will be provided. Thereupon, numerous challenges will be identified as designing/experimenting/implementing numerous furniture design projects. A time bound project will be chosen for the volunteer in keeping with the community and bamboo Center's vision. The daily tasks can be devised by the volunteer accordingly.
Skills gained
Through their work, Volunteers will gain theoretical as well as practical knowledge of making different furniture’s from bamboo. Additionally, an opportunity to participate in any one workshop (free of cost).

Context of the need
Auroville Bamboo Centre offers professionals from furniture design a good opportunity to participate and be part of our Bamboo volunteer community. This is a platform and opportunity to develop numerous designs from eco-friendly bamboo.

Goal and expected outcomes
A time bound project with expected outcome will be identified together to with the volunteer. This could be an individual project or a team project with other volunteers. Training and Guidance will be provided in keeping with the objectives and vision of Bamboo Centre.
Position and role of the Volunteer
To be part of one of the teams identified for a particular project or work on individual project, in keeping with vision of Bamboo Centre.
Conditions and practical details
For long term volunteers, Bamboo Centre offers accommodation with breakfast at a cost of Rs. 5000 per month. Additionally, volunteer will be allowed to participate, in any one Bamboo centre workshop (free of cost), upon minimum commitment of two months.

Morning hours 8.30am-12.30pm
Afternoon hours 1.30pm-5pm

Furniture design student, Furniture design professional, Design background, a good knowledge of digital software’s.
