Daily Tasks
Help in the preparation of the classes and the materials, assist the main teacher in the classes, watch and help the kids in the playground and in the swimming pool, attend the teacher's meetings.

Opportunity Description
Context of the need:
Through conscious attention to the spiritual being, to physical culture, education for the vital, and an emphasis on experimental learning rather than on abstract thinking, the Kindergarten is intending to be an example of integral education for young children.
There are many trips to the farms, beaches, forests, canyons and lakes in and around Auroville. The children learn to appreciate nature and its diversity from their experience.
There is similar balance in the rhythm of the day which alternates between vigorous activity and quiet activity, directed activity and free choice activities.
The Kindergarten wants to nurture the child's growth in all aspects and towards the divine consciousness.
Conditions and practical details:
Lunch, tea and snacks will be provided on working days. That will be together with the children.
Lodging could be facilitated depending on availability in our staff quarters when the volunteer comes.
Duration:
Minimum duration is 6 months, but ideally the volunteer will complete the school year.
The school year starts in July and finishes in May. ( Non- Indians must be aware of the visa conditions- see our visa pages.)
Timing
Morning hours 8.15 to 12.00, Monday to Friday
Afternoon hours 12.00 to 3.00 pm, Mondays (Teacher's meeting). 12.00 to 1.15 pm, Tuesday to Friday. Lunch is with the children.
Prerequisites
Previous experience with children and schools is appreciated. Enjoying to work with children, open and communicative person. Flexible and willing to experiment another way of education.
