Daily tasks: Organic methods of soil prep., composting, planting, nurturing, harvesting, milling and delivery. Organic dairy including cheese and yogurt making. Animal care - cows and chickens. Use of heavy equipment - tractors, milling machinery, logging equipment.
Daily tasks: Developing and maintaining the school garden (e.g. planting, weeding, mulching, building beds, harvesting,...) but also, if interested, developing educational projects to implement with children (e.g. learning about, observing and caring for the plants, building compost, garden decoration and land art, cooking the food we grow, making herbal remedies,... the possibilities are endless!) .
Daily tasks: Preparing menus, cooking and preparing tables. Collaborate with the farm manager to set up the quantity of products needed to be harvested for the Café. Interact with the customers An artistic inclination is welcome to work on the café's ambience Maintain the café's consistent and efficient running.
Daily tasks: Organize workshops for children. Find ressources, topics, facilitators and collaborate with all the others sectors of the farm to get into a pedagogical purpose. Collaborate with the teachers of TLC (The Learning Community), an educative unit of Auroville for children.
Daily tasks: Garden preparation and maintenance, harvesting and food delivery. Weeding, mulching, making compost. Food processing. Seed gathering. Website work, if interested.
Daily tasks: A variety of jobs on the field (planting, mulching, harvesting, nursery and seed saving), CSA production and delivery, help with cooking at the café. As your relationship to the farm deepens you are encouraged to find a specific area of focus : the café, media, art, seed bank, research...
at Baraka
Daily tasks: Tending to vegetable garden, harvesting fruit, planting. Occasional delivery of vegetables to the city area may be needed.
Daily tasks: Although more closely associated with the work in the kitchen garden, the volunteer will, like everyone else who lives in Buddha Garden, participate in the morning work sessions 6.15 – 9.00am every morning Monday to Friday. Work takes place in the kitchen garden at this time only if there are enough volunteers for the other farm work. For the kitchen garden there are two or three extra sessions either 10.00 – 12.30pm or 4.00 – 5.30pm according to need. Volunteers sign up for two extra sessions in addition to the morning work sessions.
