Context & Need

Textiles is the world’s 2^nd most polluting industry and over 200,000 cotton farmers have committed suicide due to chronic problems in this sector.

Engaged in Social Entrepreneurship promotion and support, currently, SEA has taken up 2 projects: one catering to fashion design students and another catering to fashion industry leaders.

Context of the need:

 MeDi Clown Academy collaborates with professionals in Healthcare, Education and Business. Through research and training we enhance well being, combat stress, eradicate domestic violence and stop suicide. We integrate the joy of Therapeutic Clowning, Laughter and Humour, with scientific research and the ancient art of indigenous clowning, as a holistic approach for the preventative and curative well being of individuals and communities in rural and urban India. We offer professional training and workshops.

We are now in an expanding moment and it will be helpful for us some assistance in our development.

Position and role of the volunteer:

The main task of the volunteer is to help us to grow and consolidate as an enterprise but s/he will be welcome to participate in our activities and workshops and laugh and enjoy with us.

Conditions and practical details:

Tea and lunch will be provided.

Auroville contribution will be paid.

Duration:

Context of the need:

The Pavillon de France was created long ago, but it is having another birth since August 15th, 2015 with the inauguration of a built base, that will give more visibility and impetus for its activities.

Goal & expected outcome to achieve

The expected mission for the volunteer is to give practical assistance to coordinate activities, get the reception desk for tourists and guests organized, relate with other National Pavilion groups in the context of the International Zone coordination. 

Position & role of the volunteer in the unit and in relation with other actors

The volunteer is assisting Claude Jouen, and will coordinate with the other members of the team.

Interactions 

This service consists mainly of independent work, but with a lot of links and cooperation with other working groups. No financial responsibility.

The volunteer must be self-sustained, s/he will be offered free accommodation in Claude Jouen’s place.

We can provide the Lunch at the Solar Kitchen, the  cost of the  petrol for the transport and the Volunteer contribution will be paid for the volunteer.

We  provide a pleasant, stimulating, enriching, educative and empowering working environment for the young village women it employs.

We generate wealth for the growth of Auroville by doing business in an ethical conscious manner. Profits generated by Shradhanjali are channeled back into the community for its maintenance and development.

Meals and tea will be offered.
