BHU RITAM

History and today’s organisation.

We create and perform shows, do tours, give workshops, and do artistic researches inspired by the integral yoga of Sri Aurobindo and Mother. Our creations draw from contemporary dance, theatre, vocal work, body work, aerial dance, and body memory.

Our artistic activity we founded it in January 2016

We create and present theatre performances in Auroville like Embracing the Planet (2015), Bhu (2016-17), and VAST (in progress). Our creations draw from contemporary dance, theatre, vocal work, body work, aerial dance, and body memory.

Our current focus is a performance called VAST, which depicts the journey of a young man from Nepal who is forced into exile in a big Indian city. Beyond oppression he tries to find in his body a path to his Himalaya. This is a story of reconnection with Nature and Vastness.

Vision and Missions

Our research and creations are inspired by the quest of human unity . The question of identity and freedom, beyond all forms of oppression, denials, and the memory loss is central for our research and creation.

Since 2016, being in Auroville, close to Pondicherry in Tamil Nadu, India, we are inspired by Mother and Sri Aurobindo about how the human body – beyond ruptures, oppressions, and confinements – carries in itself the memory of Nature and Vastness.

His researches are now focused on the sound frequencies and primordial forces that drive the body, the being, the natural momentum of the actor/dancer. Philippe develops a special anatomy of the actor/dancer, to serve a total and integral dance theatre and to experience on stage, beyond all memories and resistances, the freedom of the body.
