History and today’s organisation

Incepted in 2015, it was set-up as a joint venture between the Govt.of Tamil Nadu and the Auroville Foundation to train rural women SHG leaders and functionaries of the Rural Development Department on sustainable livelihoods.

Vision and Missions

Make available the expertise on Sustainable Livelihoods to the rural community and rural development officials of Tamil Nadu. Mission: Work closely with the officials and community members from across the state to provide customized solutions on sustainable livelihoods, primarily in capacity building as training programmes.

Capacity Building on Sustainable Livelihoods. Publication on Sustainable Livelihood activities. Projects for hand-holding and Creating Sustainable Livelihoods.

 

Leaders & Team

The Auroville Executive is Mr. Alain Bernard. Currently there are a staff (full time / part time) of about 6 members. Many Auroville units are associated as faculty. Interns from other institutions often are associated.
