Daily Tasks
Writing out each child's learning plan for the week, recording their achievements at the end of each Friday. Assist the teacher to evaluate the students.
Skills gained
This is an opportunity to create relationships with local children. The volunteer will get a good exposure to Indian culture and participate in village life.
Opportunity Description
Context of the need:
In Isai Ambalam Schools each of the student get a individualized learning plan every Friday. In that way the students have their own learning plan for the coming week. Part of the plan is general but it is also individually adapted the different needs of the student.
Conditions and practical details:
Lunch and tea will be provided on working days.
Duration:
Minimum duration is 6 months, but ideally the volunteer will stay the full school period, from June to end of April. (Non-Indians must be aware of the visa conditions-see our visa pages).
Timing
Morning hours 9.00 to 12.30, Monday to Friday. Every other Saturday, 9.30 to 12.30 to prepare teaching and learning materials.
Afternoon hours 13.30 to 15.00., Monday to Friday. Fridays from 13.30 to 16.30 there is teachers meeting.
Prerequisites
Good will and enthusiasm. Patience and autonomy. Willing to be with children. A teaching experience.
