Opportunity Description

Thamarai is a rich cross-cultural center in a local village next to Auroville. It promotes cultural and educational activities and programs. One of its priorities is to bring awareness about the well-being of the local people living in the rural area around Auroville and help them to take responsibility for their health.

Volunteers will be exposed and very much in touch with day-to-day Tamil life and culture. They will be part of a learning-in-action project that aims to develop skills, competencies and inner capacities in an educational context.

They can participate in guiding children’s learning, in administration and record keeping, and in leadership and sports activities.

The minimum duration is 2 months for Indian citizens and OCI holders, and it is possible to extend if fitting. For Volunteers from a foreign country, a long-term opportunity (6-12 months) stay is possible.
